A champion for advancing diversity in engineering education and research, Dr. Fernando V. Lima is an Associate Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at West Virginia University (WVU) since August 2019. With a commitment to fostering inclusive environments, Dr. Lima also serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Lima leads a dynamic research group at WVU, focusing on process systems engineering methods for process design and intensification, advanced control and state estimation, modular energy systems, and sustainability.
