John F.C. Wardle is a Professor of Astrophysics at Brandeis University's Martin A. Fisher School of Physics. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, England, and specializes in studying powerful extragalactic radio sources, particularly the nuclei of quasars. Using advanced radio astronomy techniques, such as the Very Large Array and the Very Long Baseline Array, Wardle focuses on mapping the magnetic fields near super-massive black holes at the center of these objects. His recent work includes groundbreaking detections of circular polarization at milli-arcsecond resolution. Additionally, Wardle is a member of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration.
