John Diamond

John Diamond is the Ford Foundation Professor of Sociology and Education Policy at Brown University. He was previously the Kellner Family Distinguished Chair in Urban Education and Professor of Education at Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include the relationship between social inequality and educational opportunity, particularly focusing on how educational leadership, policies, and practices affect students' educational experiences and outcomes. Diamond has published extensively in sociology and education journals and is the co-author of "Despite the Best Intentions: How Racial Inequality Thrives in Good Schools" and "Distributed Leadership in Practice." He is currently researching race, leadership, and organizational change in urban and suburban schools.
