John David Cummins
John David Cummins is a Harry J. Loman Professor Emeritus in the Business Economics and Public Policy Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a PhD, MA, and BA from the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Nebraska, respectively. His research interests include financial risk management, productivity and efficiency, insurance economics, and securitization. Cummins has received numerous awards for his research, including the Alpha Kappa Psi Spangler Award, the Robert I. Mehr Award, and the Journal of Financial Intermediation Best Article of the Year Award. He has also served as a consultant for several organizations, including the Bermuda Insurance Development Council, the American Insurance Association, and the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association.
