Dr. Alexis Collier, an Emeritus Associate Professor in Behavioral Neurosciences at Ohio State University's Department of Psychology, earned her undergraduate degree in 1973 and her Ph.D. in learning and motivation in 1976. Her research focuses on animal learning, motivation, and memory, specifically in aversive and stressful contexts during early development. Using rat models, she investigates the relationship between arousal and learning in infants and the role of the mother in modulating arousal. Dr. Collier has contributed to the field through peer-reviewed publications and service as a grant review panel member and consulting editor. In 2000, she received OSU's Department of Psychology Distinguished Teaching Award.
