Dr. Andrea Hetling
Dr. Andrea Hetling is a professor and director of the Public Policy Program at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. She holds a PhD from the University of Maryland and an MA from Columbia University. Dr. Hetling's research focuses on the impact of public programs and policies on vulnerable populations, particularly families living in poverty and survivors of intimate partner violence. As a Research Affiliate at the National Poverty Center and Research Academy member of the National Association of Welfare and Research Statistics, she collaborates in policy research and serves as a Family Self-Sufficiency and Stability Research Network Scholar. Her research interests include anti-poverty and human services policy, equity analysis of public policies, and intimate partner violence. Dr. Hetling also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in policy analysis and implementation, drawing connections between her research, teaching, and community involvement.
