Alexander Sager is an Associate Professor in the Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies at the University of Georgia, where he is also the Study Abroad and Internship Coordinator for German-speaking countries. His areas of expertise include medieval German language, literature, and culture; German literature around 1900; and the literary, cultural, and historical/historiographic relationship between German-speaking lands and Eastern Europe, primarily Hungary. Sager has been recognized for his teaching excellence, receiving the Sandy Beaver Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017 and being promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2020.
