Rick Engstrom

Fostering growth in knowledge systems for students, Rick Engstrom serves as the Vice President of Student Development at Education Northwest University. With a robust academic background, he earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Seattle University in 2020, following a Master of Arts (M.A.) from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2010, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2005. His journey into student development was significantly influenced by his active involvement in ministry during his college years, which paved the way for his professional engagement with Christian college students since 2006. Rick's commitment to student development is reflected in his innovative approaches to fostering student growth and engagement. His work is characterized by a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by students in Christian higher education settings. Through his leadership, he has been instrumental in creating supportive environments that encourage personal and academic growth. Beyond his professional endeavors, Rick is deeply rooted in his family life. He is married to Shelley, a talented artist, writer, and adjunct professor, whose creative pursuits complement Rick's educational focus. Together, they are the proud parents of two children, River and Eden, who bring joy and inspiration to their lives.
