Dr. Alexander Sanchez-Behar is an Associate Professor of Music Theory at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He obtained his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, M.M. from Northwestern University, and Ph.D. from Florida State University. Before joining TAMUK, he taught music theory and composition at Ashland University. His research focuses on minimalism, particularly John Adams's music. He has presented and published his work at renowned conferences and journals, and has served on the Society for Music Theory's Committee on Diversity. Additionally, he is a reader for the College Board's Advanced Placement exam in music theory.
