Dr. Alecia Anderson
Dr. Alecia Anderson is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). She received her Ph.D. from North Carolina State University and her M.A. from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining UNO in 2014, Dr. Anderson worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research interests include racial and ethnic relations, political sociology, and social theory. She is currently working on two projects that investigate political trust in South Africa and the voices of refugees to the U.S. through social media. Dr. Anderson is an active member of the university community, serving on various committees and boards, including the College of Arts and Sciences' Faculty Fellow for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Goldstein Center for Human Rights Center board.
