Dr. Kyle Mao serves as an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department at Texas State University, San Marcos, TX, where he is stationed at McCoy 440. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 2023, following an MS in Finance from Michigan State University in 2018. His academic journey began with dual Bachelor's degrees in Finance and Management from the University of Iowa in 2017. Dr. Mao's scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in managerial accounting, cost accounting, and financial accounting. His research is particularly focused on the innovative use of experimental methods within managerial accounting, with a keen interest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and Management Control Systems (MCS).
