Dr. Amanda Christina Soto
Dr. Amanda Christina Soto is an Associate Professor in the School of Music at Texas State University. With a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Doctorate in Music Education from the University of Washington, Dr. Soto holds certifications in Orff and Kodály pedagogical approaches and world music pedagogy. Her research interests include children's musical culture and identity, world music pedagogy, technology in music education, and Mexican and Mexican American music and culture. She is an accomplished performer with the Mariachi Cardinal Noche de Mariachi and has received numerous awards, including the Presidential Distinction Award for Service. Dr. Soto has also secured several grants for her research and serves on various committees within the School of Music.
