John David Peterson is Professor Emeritus of Organ and a former faculty member at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis. During his 27 years at the institution, he taught a range of courses, including organ, musicology, music theory, and sacred music. Peterson is a highly accomplished organist and scholar, holding a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan. He is the co-editor of the renowned Concordia edition of Bach's Orgelbüchlein, and his work has been featured in several prestigious publications. Peterson is a recipient of numerous awards, including the University of Michigan's Stanley Medal, the University of Memphis' Distinguished Teaching Award, and the Dean's Creative Achievement Award.
