Dr. Andrew Winters
Dr. Andrew Winters is an Assistant Professor at the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work and Family Science at the University of Louisville. His research centers on the effectiveness of services within behavioral health, juvenile justice, and child welfare systems for children and adolescents. Dr. Winters focuses on service equity, access, and alignment for youth involved in multiple systems. Additionally, he investigates the capacity and readiness of workforces to deliver these services, examining facilitators and barriers to service implementation. Currently, Dr. Winters is involved in three community-based research projects, including an evaluation of an intervention to address substance use among child welfare-involved parents. He is also Co-Principal Investigator on a study exploring screening and assessment processes for trauma and behavioral health needs within child welfare systems. Dr. Winters is also part of the evaluation team for the Ohio site of a five-year Quality Improvement Center grant focused on improving child welfare workforce outcomes.
