Dr. Alicia Dawson

Dr. Alicia Dawson is a Professor of Professional Practice at the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work and Family Science at the University of Louisville. Dr. Dawson has significant experience as a mental health therapist, focusing on working with children who have experienced trauma or abuse. She completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees in social work at the University of Louisville's Kent School of Social Work. She also holds a Doctorate in Social Work, with a focus on Social Work Education. Her research interests include critical race theory, school-based health centers, and racial equality, mental health, trauma, Black youth, Anti-racist curriculums, and social work education.
