Kyle Mechmet

Kyle Mechmet is an accomplished saxophonist and dedicated educator, currently serving as an adjunct professor of saxophone at Florida Atlantic University. A proud alumnus of the same institution, he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Performance there, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Further honing his craft, Mechmet pursued a Master of Arts degree in Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Iowa, where he had the privilege of studying under the esteemed saxophonist Dr. Kenneth Tse. Mechmet's career as an international concert saxophonist has seen him grace stages across the United States, Europe, and Japan. His performances are characterized by a deep commitment to the classical saxophone repertoire, and he is known for his ability to captivate audiences with his expressive playing. As a soloist, he has garnered acclaim for his technical prowess and musical sensitivity, while his collaborations with various ensembles have further showcased his versatility and artistry. In addition to his performance career, Mechmet is actively involved in music education. He teaches saxophone at several schools in South Florida, where he inspires and mentors the next generation of musicians. His passion for education is matched by his dedication to expanding the reach of classical saxophone music. Beyond his teaching and performance commitments, Mechmet serves as the associate conductor of the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches.
