Rimun Murad
Dr. Rimun Murad is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of First Year Writing, Arab American and Arab immigrant Literature, and Postcolonial Literature. As an Assistant Professor of Instructional Programs in the First-Year Writing Program at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts, she brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to her teaching and research. Dr. Murad's academic journey began at the University of Aleppo in Syria, where she developed a strong foundation in English studies. She furthered her education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of literary analysis. In 2009, she earned her Master's degree, followed by a PhD in English in 2017 from Louisiana State University, where her research focused on the intersections of culture, identity, and literature. Her scholarly interests are deeply rooted in exploring the narratives and experiences of Arab American and Arab immigrant communities, as well as examining the broader implications of postcolonial theory. Dr. Murad's work seeks to illuminate the complexities of identity and representation within these literatures, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of cultural dynamics in a global context. At Temple University, Dr. Murad is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment for her students. She encourages critical thinking and dialogue, helping students to develop their writing skills while also gaining a deeper appreciation for diverse literary traditions.
