Jingchun Li
Professor pursuing advances in the field of biodiversification, Dr. Jingchun Li is an esteemed Associate Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder. With a keen interest in the intricate processes and drivers that contribute to biodiversification, Dr. Li's research is at the forefront of understanding how diverse life forms evolve and adapt over time. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Li serves as the Curator of Invertebrates at the CU Museum of Natural History, where he oversees the collection and study of invertebrate species. His work in this capacity allows him to bridge the gap between research and public education, fostering a deeper appreciation for biodiversity among museum visitors. Dr. Li earned his PhD from the University of Michigan in 2014, where he honed his expertise in evolutionary biology. His research primarily focuses on diverse mollusk groups, utilizing these organisms as model systems to explore broader ecological and evolutionary questions. However, his curiosity and scientific rigor extend to other biological systems, reflecting his comprehensive approach to understanding life's diversity. Through his research, Dr. Li aims to uncover the underlying mechanisms that drive biodiversification, contributing valuable insights to the scientific community. His work not only advances academic knowledge but also informs conservation efforts, highlighting the importance of preserving biodiversity in a rapidly changing world.
