John Ericson
John Ericson, a tenured Professor of Music at Arizona State University, is a renowned horn player, soloist, and teacher. He began his professional career as Third Horn in the Nashville Symphony before transitioning to academia, teaching at the Crane School of Music and currently at ASU since 2001. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Ericson's students have achieved success in orchestras, military bands, and teaching positions worldwide. Ericson holds degrees from Indiana University, the Eastman School of Music, and Emporia State University. He has performed and taught at renowned summer programs and served on advisory councils for the International Horn Society. Ericson has released critically acclaimed solo albums and authored numerous publications on horn technique, pedagogy, and history. He is also a co-founder of the online magazine Horn Matters and a recipient of the International Horn Society's Harold Meek Memorial Award and Punto Award.
