Jeffrey Carruthers

Professor recognized for excellence in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr. Jeffrey Carruthers is an esteemed Associate Professor at Boston University's College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, where he honed his expertise in wireless, optical, and mobile communication systems. Dr. Carruthers is deeply invested in advancing engineering education, with a particular focus on the integration of software evaluation tools and Python programming in research and educational settings. Dr. Carruthers is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Communications Society, and the International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED) Technical Committee on Telecommunications. His contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award and the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Award for Excellence in Teaching.
