Kurt R. Stahlfeld

Kurt R. Stahlfeld, MD, FACS, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Surgery. His projects emphasize collaborative solutions for advancing surgical education and patient care. As the Director of the UPMC Mercy General Surgery Residency Program, Dr. Stahlfeld is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages innovation and excellence among residents. Dr. Stahlfeld's academic journey began with an AB from Dartmouth College, followed by earning his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He further honed his surgical skills during his General Surgery Residency at The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. To deepen his expertise, he pursued a Peripheral Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Maryland Vascular Institute, where he gained specialized knowledge in vascular procedures.
