John Oberdiek is a Distinguished Professor of Law at Rutgers Law School. His areas of expertise include tort theory, private law theory, and legal, political, and moral philosophy. He has been recognized for his scholarship including receiving the Fred Berger Memorial Prize in Philosophy of Law in 2023. In addition to his teaching and research, he serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Law and Philosophy, Co-Editor of Oxford Studies in Private Law Theory, and Director of the Rutgers Institute for Law and Philosophy.
