John E. Laird is a retired John L. Tishman Emeritus Professor of Engineering at the University of Michigan. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Communications Sciences and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. His research focuses on autonomous intelligent robots, robotic and cognitive architecture integration, and interactive task learning. He is a fellow of AAAI, ACM, AAAS, and the Cognitive Science Society.
