Kurt Riitters

Developing insights into the future of our natural landscapes, Kurt Riitters serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at the College of Natural Resources at NC State University. With a distinguished academic background, he earned his Bachelor of Environmental Studies (B.E.S.) in 1976 and a Master of Forestry (M.F.) in 1978 from the University of Minnesota, followed by a Ph.D. in 1986 from Oregon State University. Professor Riitters is renowned for his expertise in quantitative landscape ecology, a field that combines ecological theory with spatial analysis to understand the patterns and processes that shape our natural environments.
